vertu window store Nokia sold luxury brand Vertu, new CEO wants Android on future models

Today, Nokia has finished its sale of the luxury brand Vertu. It?s sold to a Swedish investment company EQT VI, though Nokia will keep a 10% stake. With the announcement, the surprising news is the new CEO to become, Anssi Vanjoki who?is more interested in Android rather than using WP8 for future models.

Vertu produces very luxury mobile devices, using high quality materials as stainless steel, leather, carbon fibre, sapphire crystal and many more. They are based on Nokia hardware and run Symbian Belle. EQT reported that in 2011 Vertu had a ?266 million sale.

Imagine this kind of devices running on Android ? it will open a complete new horizon to Google?s mobile OS.
